As you will recall, Forty-4-Frankie (F4F) is a campaign aiming to raise funds for forty more 24-hour defibrillators in Portsmouth and increase awareness and confidence in using this emergency equipment.

F4F was launched almost a year ago in March 2024 and since our last Milton Matters in October 2024 we have installed and registered six more 24-hour defibrillators. This means that there are now 11 more defibrillators available around Portsmouth - so we are (just) over a quarter of the way to our target of 40!!!

The recently installed sites are at:

F4F 0000 F4F01Aqua Cars, 12-13 Rodney Road, Portsmouth, PO4 8DF

Their General Manager Bruce Hall is pictured here. With special thanks going to Ian McNiven who co-ordinated the part- fundraising and installation

Funds for this equipment were raised through F4F donations and fundraising activities with the General Manager, Emma Cupit => able to use their in-house electrician for the installation.

Pictured are members of the Church Trust who helped make this happen. L-R Sue Wells, Beulah Walters, Susan Leighton, and Alan Phillips with special thanks to Eric their electrician. Lodge for the equipment and installation. The church raised all the money required with F4F being delighted to aid their conversation, manage and deliver the purchase and assist with their registration on The Circuit.

Many thanks to Theresa Johns (TJ), pictured and her family and customers for their contributions towards the equipment and installation. Huge gratitude also to James Saunders, our local electrician, for his expertise and favourable installation fee!

F4F 0000 F4F01Highbury Community Centre, Hawthorn Crescent, Portsmouth, PO6 2TL

Our most recent installation has been a product of a generous contribution from the Wayfarers Masonic Lodge via their Charity Steward Roger Shepherd and Forty-4-Frankie’s fundraising activities. Additional thanks to the ardent efforts of Michelle Pay the Community Centre Administrator whose tenacity made this happen! Pictured L-R, Roger, Lynn, Graham Heaney (Chair of Trustees) and Michelle.

F4F 0000 F4F01And a different success at Landport Community Centre, Charles Street, Portsmouth, PO1 1JD

Having noted that the 24-hour publicly accessible defibrillator outside this venue was not registered on The Circuit, F4F brought this to the attention of the Community Centre Manager Alan Jenkins. On examination it was evident that some of consumables in the cabinet had passed their expiry date. Alan arranged for the purchase of new pads and we visited again to help set up the registration process.

Other events and successes, we have
