The Portsmouth City Council Planning Committee met in December to review the proposal for the new Leisure Centre in Bransbury Park.
Everyone agreed that this was a much needed and well designed development, but the Neighbourhood Forum objected to the location of the new childrens play area (right next to a busy road when it could have been centrally placed in the park) and the extension of the car park in the south east corner of the park (over 450m from the leisure centre, so unlikely to be used by its patrons and not needed based on the traffic analysis).
In spite of our objections, the development was approved without change and works are expected to begin soon. Full details will be shared at our next Forum meeting on Wednesday, March 19th.
